Bashir Fancy asks Nick Brown about Mojaloop, developed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This question resulted from the recent news story about Pakistan stating they are partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
In 2018, Nick Brown made a detailed assessment of the Mojaloop Interface with the thought of being integrated with Clear Purchase. His conclusion was to reject Mojaloop based on security concerns. This assessment can be found on this web site.
Nick has since changed his mind, deciding to adopt the Mojaloop Interface as the default interface for companies to connect their systems to the Clear Purchase Payment Switch.He discusses his reasoning behind this decision.
In the last few years, Mojaloop has been making inroads into developing countries, though as yet without a running system in production anywhere. They are also promoting their Payment Switch code, called Mojaloop Hub, which Nick also discusses.
